The European Central Bank (ECB) announced another program to stimulate bank lending in the euro zone on Thursday, as well as pushing back the timing of its first rate hike. Interest rates on its marginal lending facility and deposit facility will remain unchanged at 0%, 0.25% and -0.40% The European Central Bank left the key interest rate on the main refinancing operations steady at 0% during its March 2020 meeting. The marginal lending facility was also kept at 0.25% and the deposit facility at -0.50%, defeating market expectations of a 10bps cut in the deposit rate.
